What data does Econopolis process?
Econopolis only processes data relevant to the relationship you have with Econopolis.
If you are not a client, Econopolis will generally not have your data unless you have entered it in the contact center or in a registration form for one of our events or newsletters. In that case, Econopolis will only have your contact details and the anonymized statistics we collect during our electronic mailings to check whether our newsletters are opened by recipients.
Additionally, it’s possible that our existing clients or connections refer us to you because they believe you might be interested in our services. In such cases, we will inform you that we have your data, and you can always request that we refrain from further contact.
If you wish to establish a client relationship with Econopolis, we are legally required to request certain information. This includes your identity details, contact information, family situation, knowledge of financial products, financial situation, and investment objectives.
During the client relationship, Econopolis will also have access to transaction data related to the account you manage with us.
As a website visitor, you leave certain data that allows the browser to identify you as an individual visitor. You can read more about this data in our cookie statement.
For what purpose and on what legal basis does Econopolis process my data?
If you enter into a contractual relationship with us, Econopolis processes your personal data primarily to allow you to benefit from our services in a regulatory-compliant manner, as our services are subject to extensive legislation.
Your personal data is used to determine how we can manage your assets, provide you with investment advice, execute your orders, or offer investment insurance.
We also add a personal touch to our service: we enjoy keeping you informed of the latest updates, inviting you to our events, and, unless you prefer not to be reminded, congratulating you on your birthday and sending you a Christmas card at the end of the year.
To assess the relevance of our events and newsletters to recipients, we use anonymized statistics to check whether our emails were opened.
We will never sell your data to third parties.
Where does Econopolis send personal data?
As part of your contractual relationship with us, we engage third parties (such as custodians of your securities) and are required to send them your identification data so that they can open an account in your name.
We also use third-party providers to store data (cloud storage providers) to ensure continuity of service and to avoid dependency on a single physical storage location. These third parties comply with European privacy standards.
To organize events, we collaborate with certain organizers for practical arrangements and with advertising agencies to send invitations. These parties only receive the minimum data necessary to manage these events effectively.
Since Econopolis provides regulated services, there is a possibility that the financial supervisor (FSMA) may request data. In such cases, Econopolis is obligated to provide this data.
Additionally, judicial authorities, administrative bodies, and the police may request data as part of an investigation.
What rights do you have?
Your personal data remains yours, so you can exercise certain rights.
- You may request access to your client file or any other data we may hold about you, such as information you provided in the contact center.
- You can ask us to correct any incorrect data we have recorded.
- Certain data can be deleted.
- Please note that if we are legally or contractually obligated to retain specific data, we cannot delete it.
- You can object to Econopolis processing your data.

- You have the right to request that we transfer your data to you or a third party. However, this only applies to the data we hold digitally; paper files are excluded.
- You can ask us to temporarily halt the processing of your data if you suspect we are processing it without proper justification.

We will respond to your request within 30 calendar days and inform you of the extent to which we can and are allowed to fulfill your request.
In any case, we will verify your identity before proceeding with your request to prevent unauthorized access to your data.
If you are not satisfied with how Econopolis handles your data or complaints, you may contact the data protection authority.
How long does Econopolis retain personal data?
Econopolis only retains your data as long as necessary for your client file and as required by law.
We typically retain your client file for up to 10 years after the end of the client relationship due to financial and accounting regulations.
